Organ: small intestine Tissue: epithelium Disease: normal
Permits/Forms:
In addition to the MTA mentioned above, other ATCC and/or regulatory permits may be required for the transfer of this ATCC material. Anyone purchasing ATCC material is ultimately responsible for obtaining the permits. Please click here for information regarding the specific requirements for shipment to your location.
Cell growth is inhibited by cortisol.
The cells express antigens characteristic of intestinal epithelia. [22491]
The depositor notes that the cells maintain a constant growth rate and cell morphology until approximately the 20th passage, thereafter, either cell growth rapidly declines or morphological changes are observed.
Propagation:
ATCC complete growth medium: Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium with 4 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate and 4.5 g/L glucose and supplemented with 0.1 Unit/ml bovine insulin, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10% Temperature: 37.0°C
Subculturing:
Protocol: Remove medium, and rinse the monolayer with fresh 0.25% trypsin, 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Remove the trypsin, add fresh trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature (or at 37C) until the cells detach (about 10 minutes). Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks. Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 is recommended Medium Renewal: Twice per week
Recommended medium (without the additional supplements or serum described under ATCC Medium):ATCC 30-2002
recommended serum:ATCC 30-2020
